Solar PV for your home
Cheap, clean energy for life.
Have you noticed the growing number of houses in your neighbourhood with solar panels? Solar Photovoltaic (solar PV for short) is the world’s most popular and productive source of renewable energy. Driven by worldwide demand the cost of high-quality solar panels has fallen dramatically making them an even more affordable choice for supplying much of the electricity you use in your home. Lights, heating, hot water, entertainment devices, home and garden appliances – solar power can run all these, so you’ll need to buy much less electricity from your energy supplier.
A solar PV system from Green Power Projects will also let you benefit from the Government’s Feed in Tariff (FIT) that allows you earn to quarterly tax-free monthly payments over 20 years.
How much does a Solar PV system cost?
Green Power Projects will design a system suitable to your needs and budget. An average 4kW system will cost between £4,500 and £6,500 depending on quality of equipment and scaffolding requirements.
If you are eligible to receive the FiT, you’ll benefit in 3 ways:
- Generation tariff – a set rate paid by the energy supplier for each unit (or kWh) of electricity you generate. This rate will change each quarter for new entrants to the scheme, but once you join you will be locked in for 20 years at this rate which also will increase once a year in line with inflation.
- Export tariff – you will receive a further tarriff from your energy supplier for each unit you export back to the grid.
- Energy bill savings – you will be making savings on your electricity bills, because generating electricity to power your appliances means you don’t have to buy as much electricity from your energy supplier. The amount you save will vary depending on the amount of energy you use on site.
Green Power Projects will be happy to discuss any of the information above or answer any questions you may have.
